I love mugs! I have my favorites that I use regularly but am always ready and willing to add to the collection. I also have a prized Tom & Jerry Punchbowl set from the 50s...love it!

I love your reflection on water! I, too, feel trapped if I'm not living close to the ocean. As a fellow Pisces, this is where we belong. You have inspired me to drink more water, and now, I'm loving coconut water too! Thanks.

I'll have to think about what compulsions I may have to an item or substance, but I HAVE to get me a glass of water - right NOW! Thanks for the reminder, Katy!

And don't be surprised if your glass of water is also consumed by Katy. I remember quite a few meals where that happened. Oh the good ole days. Probably after a rousing night of Square Dancing...

I don't have many cups or glasses, but i do drink at least a gallon of water a day! Like Mariaemma, I don't want cold or ice water--just good old ambient temp water. I think it's better for you.. but not too much with meals, as it dilutes your digestive enzymes, leaving fewer nutrients to be absorbed/assimilated, or so I've heard. :>) Anywaaay.... I don't know why!

I also have inexplicable collections that drive my darling wife crazy. I currently LOVE stainless steel bottles. I have them on my bikes and use them for bicycle camping. They're useful, cool looking, and reusable. It's probably "green" to own one, but not so green to own a dozen as I do. And I want more. I saw one shaped like a flask... cool.

I can relate to the need for liquid. When I go out to dinner with friends, if the water brings a pitcher of water, they will merely point to me and tell them to just leave it at the table and to come back periodically to refill it. I don't think I can match your glass/cup total, but for a 1-person household I too am over stocked on cups and glasses.

Don't have anything to contribute to your data collection at the moment. But I did want you to know that I burst out laughing when I read: "I do like to be taken out to breakfast or dinner, so please call if you’d like to check out this amazing phenomenon." Breakfast or dinner, huh? Okay, when you least expect it, you will get a call! What's really funny is that Ron drinks tons of water when we are out, too - he really wishes they would leave a whole pitcher on the table - and if I get water by mistake (I never ask for it as I hate cold water) he drinks mine, too!
